I remember a few years back when I used to watch Pixiwoo and her makeup tutorials. I used to be a novice to it all. After her Youtube success of more than 2 million followers, her and her sister developed a luxurious makeup brush, sponge and applicator line in 2011. Real Techniques by Sam&Nic.

I was lucky enough to get a chance to test their PowderBleu™Collection. This collection was designed to be used "exclusively with powders".  It is the first of it's kind.

You may not believe this but make-up brushes are the key to achieving a flawless finish, you could have the best makeup products but not applying them right won't get you the result you may be striving for.

Were you aware that the rarest and softest bristles used in elite makeup brushes derives from blue squirrel hair? Well their FauxBleu™ Technology has been formulated to perform like blue squirrel hair, hence the bristles are of a synthetic nature.
Yes, you heard right. I love brands that look into developing materials which do not derive nor test on animals.

I cannot stress how luxurious these products look. I was sent out a beautiful Real Techniques by Sam & Nic black box from Influenster.

The box contained 4 brushes from their PowderBleu™ Collection.

I have created a YOUTUBE video for those that prefer to see them in action.

The box design is sleek and looks already from the get go that you may well be experience a taste of decadent luxury.

Once I opened it, I couldn't get over the choice of colours and from my picture you will see I am not even exaggerating.

"It screamed Magnificence"

Each brush is individually contained within a plastic casing with the correspondent blue and gold colour scheme chosen for this series. I got worried when I saw a plastic tape holding the brush within the casing, but they've gone as far as using clear adhesive that does not leave glue residue on these beautiful brushes because who wants to be struggling removing the glue.

The brushes handle from the base of the brush goes from a black colour to an ombre effect blue. They all have the RT brand initials in gold at the front of the base of the brush and on the opposite side have the brush number in gold too. I find that extremely useful as you easily know what brush you are using without any struggle.

The brush handles are not round but rather a four angled shape which gets thinner as it reaches the end of the brush.

To be honest, my first impression was that the brush may well be natural in bristle consistency but no, these are actually synthetic and do not look synthetic. I still can't believe my eyes. The technology used to develop them to mimic blue squirrel hair has been successful. I cannot tell the difference.

If I state they are soft , I may well admit that it is an understatement.

"They are incredibly fluffy and feel beautiful when they touch your skin."

This Soft Powder Brush has a large tapered head. The design allows powder bronzers, highlighters or loose powder foundations to be applied flawlessly. The part that intrigues me the most is that it allows powders to be layered without disrupting the makeup you may have previously applied.

This soft finishing brush exhibits an extreme tapered head in order allow blush or highlighter to be gently sweeped across the skin or to contour the hollows of the cheeks.

This soft complexion brush portrays a dense domed head to allow for a blending and buffing effect with powder foundation or to buff blush onto cheeks. Again like all the other brushes should not disrupt below makeup, build product efficiently with a shine-free coverage.

The tapered, precision head of The Soft Shadow Brush has a precision head of a tapered shape in order to lightly layer and blend powder shadows or even sweep highlighter on the nose, chin or brow bone.

Renowned makeup artist have time and time again stated that natural brushes are best at picking up powder and easier during the application process. In this case thanks to the technology behind the design of this collection, there should be no noticeable difference in the brushes not being able to retain efficiently the product.

I can't get over how beautiful and luxurious these brushes feel. I did find that they did do as well as they advertised with powders which makes it such a great item to invest in. Not only was the design of the product on point but so was it's function.

I couldn't believe how the brush at first sight looked like natural derived brush but yet was synthetic. It is extremely soft but what what amazed me the most is how well it retained powder. It transferred the product without affecting other makeup layers.

Performance of these brushes was beyond my expectations.

They all worked so well and my finish was actually flawless which proves that makeup tools are A NECESSITY to make sure makeup looks on point. I can't get over how easy they were to use and get great results.

If I had to chose a favourite it would be practically impossible because once you try these brushes you may not want to give any of them up. You won't believe how well the soft shadow brush blends those eye shadows, let alone all the other brushes.

I highly recommend these brushes, not only can they UP your makeup game but they can make a wonderful gift.

The brushes featured here are part of a 6 brush collection. The other two brushes include:

A large flat topped brush which is useful for a quick application of bronzer on your face and décolletage.

This is a plush which allows just enough powder to be applied and also if you want to use it to lean on your face while using the soft shadow brush.

Overall, I can't rave enough about these makeup brushes.

What was your impression of these brushes? I'd love to know your thoughts below in the comment section.

"I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes."

All opinions are truthful and my own.

Let's face it, due to the high standards set out by society as a whole, we are always on the look out for ways or techniques for successful weightloss.

I can say that I am guilty of having tried out various methods of dieting as I used to model full-time and unfortunately you were required to be a certain size. This is a whole different subject, I shall leave out for some other time.

In terms of weight somehow none of us seem to be ever content.
Some feel they may want to gain weight whereas others maybe feel the need to loose weight.

This feeling though comes from within your mind because I am of the opinion that no matter where you are from or what you look like what truly counts is your heart.

However we can tend to focus as females on our weight for different personal reasons.

My reason comes from the fact that everyone is very thin in my family and I am a bit more curvy than everyone else at the moment, a bit more so in the last year and a half.

I do advise to take the advice of a doctor or dietician to see what best works with your health status and lifestyle.

These are the 7 tips that I personally found worked well in order to loose some weight which could come in handy before the festivities because as you may have all experienced, we do tend to eat more, so here goes:

1. Avoid eating processed sugars (i.e. chocolates, sweets, cakes.. This part is my main problem area as I have poor self control when faced with desserts. My mother is the biggest temptress when it comes to this department).

2. Try to drink coffee without sugar (yes, I know probably not the best tasting alternative, but with time your body will detox and find it normal to drink coffee or tea without sugar).

3. Drink at least 2 litres of water and not any kind of other drink (if you don't like the plain taste, do get a cup of boiling water, add a green tea bag and a juice of 1 whole lemon, once it has cooled down, add it to your one and a half litre water bottle. The greatness behind this technique is that green tea speeds up your metabolism and the lemon combination detoxifies your body).

4. Whether at work or at home and this is for the ones who hate exercise try to walk around a lot, avoid sitting down for long periods. However, if you enjoy exercise or the outdoors you could go for a 30 minutes walk or a 45 minute light work out session at least 3 to 5 times a week.

5. PORTIONS!PORTIONS!PORTIONS! I can't stress how important portion control is and how you should avoid any type of carbohydrate after 6pm. After this timing your body's metabolism tends to slow down.

6. You don't have to loose weight quickly and starve yourself, this will create the opposite effect, because your body will get the signal that it is being starved so whatever goes into it, it is stored as fat in order to allow your body to survive because believe it or not your body is like an engine which needs it's fuel.
Do Not starve yourself.

7. The most important point of them all, is that there is a conception for you to loose it quickly, which is a terrible idea as you will not be able to allow your skin to contract and you may be left with loose skin (This sometimes can be dependant on how much weight you may have started with or even your genetic components).
Just take your time, don't inflict it on yourself almost as if it was a punishment.

Don't forget that you can do this slow but efficient process integration at your own pace, you don't have to feel pressured by anyone else.

If there is someone putting pressure you to loose weight just remember that the Kardashians are amongst the biggest celebrities at the moment and I love that they made curves a trend. So you could also look into embracing your curves.

I remember my cousin telling me how much weight I had put on, it did make me feel insecure as I used to weigh 45kg at 5 foot and 7 inches. Yes, I was close to being anorexic and this was stress induced unfortunately. I then reached 55kg and she made out I was fat. I did initially get affected and doubt myself but the reality was that it is a healthy weight and goes to show that the issue is not with me but rather with her perception of herself.

Can you see the huge weight difference between the two?  But look at how much more healthy I look now and how much thicker my hair became. My body is now nourished. Yes, I am not skinny and do get told how much more curvy I look. But that's not such a bad thing right?

Look at it this way or maybe this is how I look at it. So many people around the world have to suffer with famine, think about what they would give to be in your shoes and have access to food. Having worked with many charitable organisations, I truly count my blessings.

Have you also faced the issues I have had? Do you have any tips to advise me on? Comment below. I would love to know your opinions.

Are you someone who travels or has a profound interest in travelling. Well, this post is for you.

Needless to say, Emirates Airline has done it again. For those who are not aware Emirates Airline unveiled their new first class product on the Boeing 777-300ER on it's first day of the Dubai Airshow 2017.

The have gone beyond any of their competitors could have, to state that their product is pure luxury is an understatement.

Emirates has always been very innovative and forward thinking making it stand ahead of the rest.

Their first class is very well known as we have all seen the rich and famous sitting in their own little first class golden suites but let me tell you they have gone beyond commercial airline expectations, forget about what studies and regulatory bodies they had to work with to ensure safety standards were strictly adhered to.

Emirates Airline prides itself not only on great customer service and innovation but also safety.

Due to the increasing space that was required for the first class individual suites, instead of their usual 8 seats availability they now accomodate 6. The interior design was done in collaboration with Mercedes-Benz and other prestigious entities.

They contain two window suites and a middle suite on each of the two rows. The big question on everyones mind is, will the middle passenger be basically stuck in a closed viewless seat? Absolutely not, Emirates has gone as far as making sure it contains virtual windows from which you will get an outside view in realtime.

We are now looking at fully private suites with a floor to ceiling door as a separator. The space is of 40 feet and the design is in line with the champagne, soft grey colour scheme Mercedes-Benz features in their S-Class Range.

A full reclining seat which is used as a bed to get that much needed first class rest is featured together with a zero-gravity feature inspired by NASAs technological advances ensuring a weightless relaxation.

As for the rest of the features, you will yet again have access to your own mini bar and inflight 32 inch award winning entertainment system.

The luxe experience does not end here as you will be provided with the Hydra Active moisturising pijamas, Bvlgari cosmetic kits, Byredo skincare collection and Bowers & Wilkins noise-cancelling headphones. Everything you would require for a comfortable high class flight.

But are you truly getting privacy? Oh yes, you may contact the cabin crew via a video call function and should you not wish to be disturbed, a service window is available so that you may still receive whatever you may request.

Can you just image how great this feature is for high profile individuals? They can official get a higher extent of privacy.

The only issue that may become apparent is that it is designed for a single person rather than those who travel together but then again if you think about it you can opt to fly A380 in that instance if it's a factor that is of importance to you.

Plans show that by 2019, nine 777-300ERs will display this new cabin layout on destinations such as Brussels and Geneva initially and subsequently expanding to Chicago, Perth and Brisbane.  Tim Clark, the Emirates Airline President did state that eventually this feature will be available throughout the whole fleet, however such a great change obviously needs time to ensure the high standards expected.

From the 1st of December 2017 you may be able to experience this feature on your way to Geneva or Brussels.

You would think the experience ends here, but if you are new to emirates let me tell you it DOES NOT END HERE. Courtesy of the full experience an S-Class Mercedes Benz will available as part of their inclusive chauffeur service when you fly in the United Arab Emirates.

Want to see it in a video?

Emirates Airlines never fails to surprise us all. All hail, Emirates Airline.

Lo and behold ladies and gentlemen, probably ladies sorry gents, I hereby present to you the November Birchbox.

This months expectations were very high as Vogue only represents the best of the best but the true question is. Did they manage to impress or depress me???????????????

Lets start off by mentioning that the products within this box were picked from the Vogue 100 Beauty Hall of Fame.

This item can be purchased from
I received it at the end of the first week of November.

I was told I would also get a complimentary spectrum brush. Was it included? well, unluckily no.
Lets get right into it.

This item is made out of soft compound rubber. It is a Birchbox exclusive. It consists of different patterned grooves to allow you to clean brushes with ease.

Does it actually work?

Yes it does, you have to rub the bristles onto the brush cleaner, be sure to apply some soap or specific brush cleansing solutions and voila' let the brushes dry out to get your brushes clean.

Cleaning brushes is more important than you think as bacteria and impurities will accumulate and be the source of breakouts or even infections.

According Jessica Dine, The Vogue Beauty & Lifestyle Director, it's a high quality top coat that manicurists swear by.

I did test it out and yes it does dry out very quickly, if you reapply it mid-week you will find that you manicure lasts longer. Would I go out of my way to purchase it? Well, I hate to admit but I probably wouldn't, some lower priced brands have the same exact product at half the price.

The packaging is simple yet cute. The product is a cream/gel consistency of white colour.
The sample contains 25ml of tanning agent.

What surprised me is that it was odourless. It's a gentle overnight mask effect tanning agent which promises to not stain your bed sheets and provide a subtle glow. They recommend you use it once a week and all you need is a thin layer.

I am not one that tans at all as my skin is very delicate and unfortunately only tried it onto my hand and yes it subtly tans. You will get a shade darker.

The big question on everyone's minds probably are, was it a patchy tan or flawless? Did it transfer?

It wasn't patchy at all , it provided just a slight one shade darkening and it did not transfer as the consistency of the product allows it to be absorbed very quickly. My skin luckily did not dry out after usage and had no reaction to it, probably because it is not a harsh product. I also noticed that if you exfoliate it will come off.

Yes, the name is a mouthful.

It smells incredible to be honest, I think it may have violet essence within it and the product is intended for use on towel dried hair. You will only need 1 to 2 drops, so the product may last you quite some time.

The consistency is almost like that of a serum, at first slightly sticky but then becomes satin as it dries out.

It protects against styling heat and nourishes the hair through it's ProVitamin B5.

Unfortunately, I did not notice any considerable difference nor improvement but it may well be that it's because continued use is indicated.

I probably would not purchase this item as I prefer a moroccan oil type serums and oils as my hair is dry from colouring and styling. I think this product would better suit people with very oily hair.

Believe it or not it's the first time I got to test Benefit's Hoola bronzer. It is matte which I love as I have combination skin and the last thing I want is to look a shiny mess. I love the tone of this bronzer as it doesn't have that grey undertone that most bronzers have.

I am glad this little gem was included.

The best part to this item is that it is so highly pigmented that you would barely need to brush on it to acquire that bronzed queen definition.

I am completely in love with this product and would most definitely look into purchasing it.

VOGUE included a COMPLIMENTARY 6 ISSUE VOGUE MAGAZINE IN PRINT ON IPHONE AND IPAD. This available when you purchase a 1 year or 2 year subscription to Vogue at

It's sad to say I was depressed and not impressed by the contents of this box. This was because my expectations were set high for this Vogue collaboration, which did not work to Birchbox's favour.

When you see Vogue in an edition you expect excellence and the only item I would actually purchase is the Hoola bronzer from Benefit, other that unfortunately I WOULDN'T purchase the other items.

As I mentioned before, I did not receive my promised Spectrum brush and noticed that other people got better or different products.

I wanted to give Birchbox a chance and have tried out 3 beauty boxes to make sure I was going to continue my subscription. It is with much regret that I DID cancel it as I don't feel it's worth it to me personally.

However, if you do like a little monthly treat for yourself or a teenage girl, this may be the box for you.

My choices are based on personal preference, one of the most important factors in my evaluation is quality versus price. Hence, if it's financially worth it I will make sure I invest in a product.

You can get the full size items of the above products at or the respective brand websites. If you are in the UK it's easier to just get them from the BIRCHBOX website, rather than source them separately as there is no difference in price.

This is not a sponsored post and all opinions are truthful and my own. Just because I do not like one item from a specific brand it doesn't mean other items from the same brand may not be worth the purchase.

It is with very much excitement and anticipation that I can reveal the ins and outs of my Marc Jacobs beauty make-over experience at John Lewis (on Oxford Street London) courtesy of Influenster.

I had the pleasure of the full Marc Jacobs makeover experience, not only did I learn how to correctly apply the products, I also found out which products best complemented my skin and was able to enjoy playing around with the products to.

To say I was excited to try the Marc Jacobs brand is an understatement. However, the real question was, was it worth the hype???????

Let me just say that Marc Jacobs love for shiny as a colour paid off as the packaging design was impeccable, most casing is shiny black and of high quality. This brand screams LUXURY.

The same key benefits are available with each and every product of this unbelievable range: moisturising, youth promoting, highly pigmented and luxurious.

Hope you are ready for a luxe filled selection of mouth filling names.

I was greeted by Joanna at the Marc Jacobs counter, her makeup looked impeccable so I knew I was in for a great experience.

My skin was prepped with the Marc Jacobs Under(Cover) Perfecting Coconut primer.

This product as you may notice appears white and is rich in nutrients and coconut forms. If you are a beauty connoisseur you may be fully aware of all the benefits associated with coconut and yes, to my amazement these are available within this product.

The real question on your mind will be, do you need a lot of product to prime your skin? Will it extend makeup wear? Will it create a smooth surface for makeup application?

The answer is yes, yes and yes. Firstly and foremost this product is light and moisturising. I noticed that it absorbed quite quickly. It combined perfectly with my combination skin and only ONE pump of the product is needed to achieve this.

We opted for a full coverage natural colour foundation and used Marc Jacobs Dew Drops Coconut Gel highligher two small drops of product together with ONLY ONE DROP of the Marc Jacobs Re(Marc)Able Full Cover Foundation in the light bisque shade.

Dew drops provide that radiance and youthful freshness we all strive to achieve. Again this other product contains coconut ensuring your skin remains well hydrated.

Be very aware that the full coverage foundation is remarkable and you will only need a drop, be very careful to follow this method as it is highly pigmented. Another great thing is that this foundation is oil free and should work well on oil producing skin.

If you are looking for light to medium coverage and an easier product that you may even work with your finger tips I advise you to go for Marc Jacobs Genius Gel Super-Charged foundation.

This was all applied and blended in with the Marc Jacobs The Face III Buffing Foundation Brush.

How impressive, only very little product was used to achieve this radiant yet full coverage complexion.

To me concealer, is fundamental in my makeup routine, they have two types of concealers: the Marc Jacobs Remedy Concealer Pen and Marc Jacobs Re(Marc)Able Full Cover concealer.

I was looking for a full coverage concealer so we opted for the later.

I could not believe how pigmented and effective this product was. I selected this one in order to conceal the redness on my cheeks and under my eyes. It provided full coverage and the same key benefits associated with all of the Marc Jacobs beauty range. I found this a very effective product.

This concealer was applied with the Marc Jacobs The Conceal Full Cover Correcting Brush which was my favourite brush by far. This brush is life and it was love at first sight not only because of it's design but mainly because of how it allowed application of the product with ease.

Joanna went onto Contouring with the Marc Jacobs #instamarc Light Filtering Contour  Powder, Dream. This sleek design compact comes in three shades, light, medium and dark. We chose the medium tone. I couldn't get over how well it blended onto the skin.

On one side of the compact you will get the highlighter on the other a bronzer, in order to define the best features of your face.

To add a bit of depth to my face and accentuate my features she used the Marc Jacobs O!Mega Bronze Perfect Tan, Tantric it's so good to the point that it is out of OUT OF STOCK.

I was impressed with how well this bronzer blended with all the products, what I love about it is that it can be used all over and will never look shiny.

Subsequently, the Marc Jacobs Air Blush, Lush&Libido was used on my cheeks, the greatness of this product lies in the fact that one component will provide you with a glow and the other with the blush as it contains two shades inspired by a Marc Jacobs dress. Depending on how you blend it and which side you swipe the brush from you can achieve different type of finishes. Again this product is such a must-have that it's out of stock.

For the contouring and blush application the following brushes were used:

Marc Jacobs The Blush Angled Blush Brush
Marc Jacobs The Bronze Bronzer Brush
Marc Jacobs The Shape Contour & Blush Brush

In my eyes highlighting is a must so depending on the finishing you prefer you may go for a dewy fresh look with the Marc Jacobs Glow Stick, Spotlight or as before the alluring Marc Jacobs Dew Drops Coconut Gel Highlighter. I selected the later as I prefer a subtle glow.

If there is something I learnt about makeup is that eye primer is incredibly important. Have you ever wondered how makeup artists achieve those perfect crease free eye shadows, well this is their secret.

Joanna used on my eye lids the Marc Jacobs Under(Cover) Perfecting Coconut Eye Primer.

Three brushes were used to achieve my eye look:
Marc Jacobs The Crease Brush
Marc Jacobs The Smudge Brush
Marc Jacobs The All over Shadow

The first product used was the Marc Jacobs Twinkle Pop Eye Shadow Stick(Au Revoir) which is a cream shadow eyeliner of a shimmering consistency. What's exceptional about this is that you can build the product depending on how dramatic or natural you want your look to be and it takes time to dry so you have time to blend it to satisfaction.

Upon application it will feel fresh on your lids which is crucial to reduce puffiness. How far has makeup come, it's enlightening and impressively enough an innovation of the makeup industry.

For adding depth to my eye the Marc Jacobs Eye-Conic Longwear Eyeshadow Palette, Glambition was used and specifically the brown buttery matte velvet shade to the crease of my eye.

For under my eye the Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel Eye Crayon in Ro(Cocoa) was blended and for my waterline In the Buff! was used. This product dries quicker so it was worked with promptly.

The Marc Jacobs Brow Wow Brow Defining Longwear Pencil in Ash Brown was used to create a natural eyebrow, you may also draw individual with this one. To set the eyebrows the Marc Jacobs Beauty Brow Tamer Grooming Gel 30 Invisible was applied.

The Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara, Noir was by far one of my favourites out of all their beauty range. This product is iconic especially for those of us that do not have lash volume nor length. My lashes with one coat were instantly different lashes. This mascara is smudge proof and lashes look almost like you are wearing false lashes.

What intrigued about this product is the fact that Marc Jacobs was inspired by his mothers velvet fiber shaving trick to increase lash volume and length, and oh boy did this concept produce such a successful mascara.

Mascara Brush design in general is a key component to the success of a mascara and boom did Marc Jacobs triumph with this product.

Just look at the difference with just one coat of the mascara. The images speak for themselves.

Admire the black pigment, lengthening effect and

The Marc Jacobs (P)outliner Longwear Lip Pencil, Nude(ist) was used on my lip line and their BEST SELLER Marc Jacobs Le Marc Lip Crème, Slow Burn on my lips. This item was so decadent, it had a matte finish without drying out my lips. It was just so outstanding and best of all long lasting.

For the finish it's as simple as utilising the Marc Jacobs Re(cover) Perfecting Coconut Setting Mist. It allows the makeup to set, last and look like you have hydrated skin. The smell I can only describe as my nostalgic memory of summer and coconuts.

Here is a close up of  The MARC JACOBS makeover result.

Here is the final look. How gorgeous it the layout for where the makeup is applied?

What did I think of this look?

Here is a clear close-up of the makeup.

Objectively, I was impressed with how natural and sophisticated I looked. I got a lot of positive response from many people mainly male though, which makes sense as the product is designed by a male. Who better kmows what looks best on a woman from a male perspective and what's additional to this is the fashion background. This brand is the best of both worlds.

Which products impressed me the most?

I would have to say I am in love with the:

Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara, Noir
Marc Jacobs The Conceal Full Cover Correcting Brush
Marc Jacobs O!Mega Bronze Perfect Tan
Marc Jacobs Air Blush, Lush&Libido
Marc Jacobs Dew Drops Coconut Gel highlighter
Marc Jacobs Remedy Concealer Pen
Marc Jacobs Twinkle Pop Eye Shadow
Marc Jacobs Le Marc Lip Crème.

What was the best feature of this beauty range?

Besides product design, I believe the best feature is how well pigmented the product is and how little product you will have to use. Great trait characteristics for a luxury brand.

If I could only chose one of the products to purchase, which one would it be?

Believe it or not, the Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara, Noir, I couldn't believe the power within this mascara.

Lets appreciate the difference of just one coat of the product. I am shook.

I honestly, can't believe how much it has amazed me, when initially I would have never thought it would have. Yes, I am raving about it, as it's rare to find such a great mascara.

The big question on everyone's minds probably is. How well did the makeup hold?

As you can see from the pictures ,one taken with no flash and one with, it held up well. I have a very oily t-zone and I wasn't hating it by the end of the day. Lips and eyes held the best I practically saw no change whatsoever within 12 hours.

The mascara is definitely smudge proof, all hail Marc Jacobs this is the holy grail of all mascaras.

I recommend the makeover experience especially because you will be able to get familiar with the range and what works best with your demands and skin.

The booking fee is redeemable against purchases made on the day of the appointment and as you may notice it is incredibly affordable and worthwhile.
